Health Network Alert: Has Your State Expanded Spousal Impoverishment Protections?

(3/6/2014) Starting in 2014, all states must extend impoverishment protections to spouses of home and community-based services (HCBS) waiver participants.  Spousal impoverishment protections prevent one spouse from experiencing severe poverty when the other spouse has qualified for certain kinds of Medicaid coverage.
