(3/26/2012) In a letter to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV), NSCLC joined nearly 40 organizations and 45 individuals urging immediate reinstatement and extension of SSI eligibility for “this vulnerable group of refugees and humanitarian migrants.” Applauding the Senate for passing the “Supplemental Security Income Extension for Elderly and Disabled Refugees Act of 2011” last October and noting the House’s failure to act, the letter calls on the Senate to include the extension “as both chambers consider measures intended to bolster the economy.”
